Michael Greville

LEAD ASSOCIATE: CONFLICT MANAGEMENT

Michael is the founder of Salvas Learning Ltd, a leading learning and consultancy company.

He’s also the co-developer of RunHideSurvive™ – the package of training and equipment for terror-attack survival that won Commendation in the 2018 Counter-Terror Business Awards.

Since 2009, he’s been working with clients from the public, private and third sectors, advising, training, mentoring and supporting them to deal with work-related violence, manage conflict situations, and respond to high-threat incidents like terror attacks.

In the 30-year police career leading up to that work, Michael dealt with terrorist and criminal attacks, explosive-device situations, and joint operations with the military and other agencies. As part of the Strathclyde Police first-aid training team, he completed the Battlefield Advanced Trauma Life Support (BATLS) programme.

Michael’s research interest in violence reduction took him on a study tour in the United States, working with top experts and law-enforcement agencies there. He went on to be one of the architects of an award-winning officer safety training programme created by Strathclyde Police with the Metropolitan Police Service.

He rounded off his policing years seconded to East Renfrewshire Council as part of the National Violence Reduction Unit. This was a pioneering post that put Michael at the heart of teaching, learning and working with adults and young people.

He joined Foresee in 2018, bringing a passion for training clients from all walks of life in personal safety at work; workplace violence reduction; conflict resolution; physical interventions skills; and terrorist-attack survival.
